Magda Cocco is a partner in Vieira de Almeida & Associados (www.vda.pt) in Lisbon (Portugal). She is a member of the Telecoms Media & IT practice group. Ms. Cocco focuses her practice on telecommunications, media, e-commerce, and information technology, privacy compliance, information security and cybersecurity. She has in-depth regulatory expertise in telecommunication and media and has been involved in many of the most significant deals in Portugal in this sector. She has also been actively working in the areas of media and information technologies. Ms. Cocco is in charge of privacy, data protection and cybersecurity practice in the firm. In such capacity, she has advised companies from all sectors on several compliance matters.
She has lectured at the Faculty of Law, at Lisbon University, has participated as an invited speaker in several conferences and seminars, and published numerous articles in national and international specialized publications. In 2007, Ms. Cocco received the Iberian Lawyer’s “40 under forty” award for the best young lawyers in Iberia. She is a member of the Portuguese Bar Association and the Portuguese Association for the Development of Communications.
