Daeyong Baek 

Daeyong Baek is a partner at Shin & Kim. He advises clients across a broad range of complex regulatory, government and legislative affairs, and corporate matters, including antitrust and competition, privacy, data security, consumer protection, and communications. In the area of the protection of personal information, he has special expertise in dealing with violation of the Personal Information Protection Act, the Location Information Protection Act, and the Consumer Protection Act.

He is also known for his regulatory expertise. He has been asked by the Korean government to serve as an advisor/counselor to: the Korea Communications Commission; the Ministry of the Interior and Safety; the Personal Information Protection Commission; the Ministry of Science and ICT; the Board of Audit and Inspection of Korea; and the Personal Information Dispute Mediation Committee. He is also serving as a committee member of the Personal Information Protection Commission.

Mr. Baek received his bachelor’s, graduate, and doctorate degrees from Yonsei University, and also holds an LL.M. degree from Georgetown Law Center.

Jee-Eun Roh

Jee-Eun Roh is a senior associate at Shin & Kim LLC in Seoul (South Korea). Her main areas of practice include regulatory affairs (legislation, government investigations, policy) as well as personal information, privacy rights, data protection, and fair transactions.

Ms. Roh has been actively participating in research as a member of the Dispute Mediation Committee under the Personal Information Protection Commission, advisory attorney at the Personal Information Protection Commission and Korea Internet & Security Agency, expert member of health and medical data deliberation, standing director of the Personal Information Protection Law Associating and a director of general affairs of the Korea Data Law and Policy Society.
